Caroline Betancourt, Psy.D.

Caroline Betancourt, Psy.D., integrates a warm, compassionate, and accepting environment with evidence-based treatments and techniques, tailoring her approach to effectively address the specific needs of each individual she works with. She is dedicated to helping her clients build strengths, achieve their goals, and improve their overall well-being!

Dr. Betancourt is a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in providing assessment and treatment to children, adolescents, young adults, and families. She has worked with clients who present with a wide range of diagnoses and life stressors, including attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), academic/learning difficulties, behavioral and adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, parent-child, and peer-based relationship problems, and self-esteem issues. Her clinical focus has included working with clients using interventions informed by research and through collaboration with educators and parents. Dr. Betancourt provides these services using various clinical approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Behavioral Parent Training.

In addition to providing therapy to individuals and families, Dr. Betancourt also has extensive experience and expertise in conducting psychological and psychoeducational evaluations for the assessment of giftedness, learning disorders, school accommodations, ADHD and behavioral issues, and social-emotional functioning. Through assessment, Dr. Betancourt has been able to provide her clients with greater insight into their strengths, weaknesses, cognitive potential, learning style, personality characteristics, and career interests. Additionally, she often attends Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings at schools on behalf of her clients and serves as a passionate advocate for the fulfillment of their appropriate learning needs.

Dr. Betancourt pursued her undergraduate degree at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with Minors in Spanish and Sociology. A South Florida native, Dr. Betancourt continued her education at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, earning a Master of Science and a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.).
