Counseling Group Miami

Dalit Szkolnik, MA, RD, LD, CEDRD

Hey! My name is Dalit Szkolnik, and I specialize in food. Yes, food! Food is and has been an integral part of our lives and I believe different foods hold different emotional and psychological meanings for each and every one of us. I follow a No Dieting Approach, meaning that are no good foods or bad foods – there are just foods. My main goal is to help each patient reach normal eating by following hunger/fullness cues while finding healthier coping strategies to substitute eating disorder behaviors. Originally from Venezuela (bilingual Spanish/English), I graduated with a double major in Dietetics and Psychology from Florida International University. After completing my dietetics internship at the Renfrew Center in Florida, I decided to get experience in a clinical setting to form a well-rounded nutrition base that included knowledge in diabetes, weight management, cardiac disease, and HIV at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. While living in this amazing city I received a Master’s degree in General Psychology from Columbia University, which provided me with the counseling skills needed to help patients reach their nutritional goals and a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle. I specialize in the treatment of Eating Disorders including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and Eating Disorders not otherwise specified.  Most recently, I joined the Miami Chapter of The International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals and volunteer as Treasurer.  It is an honor to advocate for the awareness of eating disorders and for those individuals and their families living through this disease.  I am committed to helping patients suffering from Eating Disorders discover the joys of eating!
