Director of Dialectical Behavior Therapy Licensed Mental Health Counselor DBT Clinician

Leslie Gil earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Psychology and Mental Health Counseling from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. In 2013, Leslie became trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and has been a member of The Counseling Group’s DBT Treatment Team for over a decade. Throughout her time as a DBT clinician, Leslie has provided individual, group therapy, and parent/family coaching for both adult and adolescent DBT participants and their families. Leslie currently serves as the Director of the Adult and Adolescent DBT Programs.

Leslie has previous experience working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, self-esteem, trauma, emotion dysregulation, and Borderline Personality Disorder. She is trained in DBT-Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE) which is an evidence-based treatment designed to treat individuals diagnosed with PTSD or who have experienced trauma.

In her free time Leslie likes to read, spend time with family and friends, and travel. She has a special interest in the Montessori Method of education. Leslie is a Miami native and fluent in Spanish.
