Lisa Bour earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. She earned her law degree from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida, and further completed her Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling Psychology at Florida International University in Miami, Florida.
Lisa has previous experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient hospitalization, and outpatient services. Lisa has experience working with clients with emotion dysregulation, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, behavioral disorders, interpersonal skills deficits, family and relational difficulties, and self-esteem issues.
Prior to joining the Counseling Group, Lisa received training in individual and group therapy at the Center for Children and Families at Florida International University, where she provided therapy to children with behavioral and mood disorders, as well as provided skills training to their parents. Lisa also received training at Monte Nido, an eating disorder treatment facility, where she provided individual and group therapy, as well as client meal support.

What do you specialize in or focus on in mental health treatment?
Lisa provides individual and group therapy to adolescents and adults. She believes in taking a collaborative approach to therapy, and she provides a comforting environment for her clients to grow. Lisa is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE), which is a highly effective treatment for individuals undergoing DBT to treat PTSD and trauma.
What do you do in your free time?
Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, and spending time with friends.
